Second Saturday of Service

Each month on the second Saturday, a community service event will be scheduled. In February, we will serve at the Potluck in the Park on Sunday, Feb. 12 from 2-5 p.m. This is a meal to feed the homelss. Sign up on the clipboard in the Narthex. Contact Missy Moore for more information.

Women's Retreat

Women's Retreat February 17-19, 2012. Join in for a time of worship, fellowship, and relaxation at the beach. Registration forms available soon. Contact Diane Haman if interested in helping organize the retreat. Help support the retreat by taking a turn at the Sacred Grounds Care. We depend on fundraising for speaker fees, decorations, and the fun extras. If we have enough crewmembers, each person would take one turn a month or less. It is a lot of fun and we train you to make the drinks or to take the orders or do both.

CHIC

CHIC is the Covenant Church's national triennial conference for high school students in Knoxville, Tennessee. You can help our students get to CHIC by donating redeemable cans and bottles. Take home a greeen bag from the table in the foyer, put your bottles and cans in it, bring it to the collection area (outside on the left side of the church entry) Sunday morning. You can also donate cans and bottles in the red collection can under the mailboxes and in the youth room.

The students will be prepraing a spaghetti dinner with entertainment on Sunday, Nov. 20 from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $5 per person, $12 maximum per family. Dinner reservations are available in the Narthex.

The students are taking orders for fresh Christmas wreaths, and include choices for a lovely handmade bow. The wreaths will be available for pick up on Sunday, Nov. 27. Cost is $20.

Camp of the Cascades for Summer

Schedules and scholarship information is available in the Narthex. MCC offers a $100 scholarship for completion of various activities. Contact Sharmon Martin for further details.

Scrip Fundraising Program

Purchase scrip on Sundays and during office hours during the week. The church buys the cards at a discount and you pay the face value. Cards are available for Albertsons, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Krispy Kreme, Shari's, Burger King, Newport Bay/Stanfords, Chili's/Macaroni Grill and others. The complete list is on the order form.

To participate, use this Excel order form and return it to the church secretary by attaching it to an email or drop the form off in the church office. Items ordered by "purchase" Sunday will be available the following "pick-up" Sunday. Go to the Scrip Calendar for these dates. If you have trouble downloading the order form, contact the webmaster.

If you have any questions, contact Missy Bourquein, Mary Olsen, Debbie Cox, Sue Sanman or Sharon Petersen.
