In the lap of luxury May 5, 2016
In the lap of luxury, that’s how we feel today as we traveled to Turkey to begin the next section of our tour, “The Steps of John and Paul”. We met our guide, Arical surprisingly at the airport in Istanpul. We were standing there waiting for our next connection talking with our Aussie friends, Glen and Sue when this guy shows up and introduces himself as our guide. We weren’t wearing our Pilgrim Tour badge or anything other than being four American looking people waiting in a Middle Eastern Airport, (enough said).
We traveled about 45 minutes to our hotel on the shores of the Aegean Sea. Upon entering the hotel, we all thought that they must have mistaken us for somebody else. The place is AMAZING, nicest Kim and I have ever been in. This first picture is not our hotel, but a private house located below our us. Once we settled into our rooms, we took a walk around the town, Kusadasi, Turkey. This is where cruise ships dock allowing their passengers the opportunity to visit ancient Ephesus.
On our trip here, Arical gave us a brief history of the area and what we will be doing. We are enjoying the accommodations here, however being a big fan of Paul’s writings we are excited to see the history. Oh, by the way, I think that I could do some good writing and sermon prep from this location. Wowee!
