Boots on the Ground April 26 & 27, 2016
Well at 11:00pm Tuesday Tel Aviv time (Tues.1:00pm PCT) we finally made it to Israel. After collecting our luggage we arrived at our hotel around 1:00am Wed. morning. Since we worked up such an appetite “sitting” on a plane all day, we went to the only thing open near the hotel, their version of a 7 &11. We got crackers, humus, canned salmon and went to the shores of the Mediterranean. We ate our meal around 2am surrounded by three feral cats, who were more than willing to assist us with finishing off the fish.
One high-lite of the trip was leaving Germany and flying over the Alps at sunset. We realize now that God made some nice mountains in places other than the Pacific Northwest. In the distance we could also see the Mediterranean, very beautiful.
Tomorrow the rest of our tour group arrives. We have a dinner together followed by a short introductory meeting. The official tour begins Thursday morning. Although Kim and I are tired from the travel, we are very excited and grateful at having this opportunity.
